Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program www.teachercreativity.org

Lilly Endowment Inc., an Indianapolis-based, private philanthropic foundation, is pleased to announce the expansion of the Teacher Creativity Fellowship Program for 2003. The Endowment believes that this program of renewal leads to teachers and educational professionals who become even more committed to helping Indiana's young people grow and learn with excitement and enthusiasm. For the first time since the program began in 1987, eligibility to apply for grants is being extended to include licensed principals and assistant principals in Indiana's public, private and parochial schools.

If you have specific questions about the program or application procedure, you may contact Lilly Endowment via e-mail: info@teachercreativity.org

National Clergy Renewal Program www.clergyrenewal.org

Lilly Endowment seeks to strengthen Christian congregations by providing an opportunity for pastors to step away briefly from the persistent obligations of daily parish life and to engage in a period of renewal and reflection. Renewal periods are not vacations, but times for intentional exploration and reflection, for drinking again from God's life-giving waters, for regaining enthusiasm and creativity for ministry.

In the 2003 National Clergy Renewal Program, the Endowment anticipates awarding approximately 125 grants of up to $45,000 each directly to congregations for the support of a renewal program for their pastor. Up to $15,000 of the grant may be used for congregational expenses associated with the renewal program. Deadline for submission of proposals is July 18, 2003. Notification of grant awards will be made by December 2003.

Walter and Margaret Reed
Walter L. Reed and Margaret I. Reed Scholarship

Margaret and her late husband, Walter a former teacher in the Fayette County School System worked their way through college and at one point, almost had to leave school because of lack of funds. A Dean of the University was able to find them jobs on campus. "Walt and I had absolutely nothing when we started college in 1934 during the Great Depression." They both graduated from IUS with a graduate degree in 1943. They knew what it was to need assistance with their education! With Margaret's keen eye on the stock market and her love of education, Margaret established this scholarship for the future.
